Led by decorated athletes Dave Durante and Mike Cerbus, Team Power Monkey coaches represent some of the world's most elite experts in their respective sports.
Power Monkey Fitness coaches are dedicated to bringing their expertise to anyone who wants to learn. You can train with our coaches at our worldwide Clinics, spend a week learning with them at Power Monkey Camp, or train with our signature Power Monkey Training App Programs.
Power Monkey Team Captain
Dave Durante is a multiple time USA gymnastics national champion and was part of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Team as alternate. After retiring from competition, David helped coach his alma mater, Stanford University, to an NCAA Team Title in 2009 and has continued to be a part of the sport through his position on the Athlete Advisory Committee with the United States Olympic Committee as well as his position on the USA Gymnastics Men's Technical Committee. Dave was a lead coach with the CrossFit Gymnastics L1 course from 2013-2015. He also wrote and developed the CrossFit Gymnastics Advanced Course. Dave is co-owner of Power Monkey Fitness and Power Monkey Camp.

Shane Geraghty was 2-time Captain of the Syracuse University Gymnastics Team on a full scholarship, where he received a BS in Exercise Physiology and Psychology. He became a professional acrobat and stuntman, and still performs around the world for some of Hollywood's top films. Shane co-founded SHINE, a Non-Profit Gymnastics Outreach program which allows children in inner-city Newark, New Jersey to receive free tumbling instruction under the tutelage of a World Champion Coach (Rayshine Harris). Shane's background in Gymnastics and Exercise Science coupled with his knack for branding and business, led Shane to become the Marketing Director and head of Business Development for Power Monkey Fitness.

Colin Geraghty has a strong background in gymnastics with years of weight training experience. He was an all-county high school basketball player and a walk-on basketball player at UNC Charlotte. Colin is well-versed in many aspects of sports and fitness and loves the idea of having a positive impact on other people's lives. Colin was formerly the top trainer at CrossFit Milford, and now lives in San Diego as director of Power Monkey Training App and head Power Monkey programmer.

Mike competed in the sport of Weightlifting at an elite level from 2005-2014. He medalled at 3 National Championships and 5 American Open Championships, taking out the title in 2011 as American Open Champion, while also being selected to the United States Pan American & Olympic Qualification Teams in 2012. His competitive accomplishments and growth as a coach have been made possible by developing under Senior International Coach Lou DeMarco and as a training specialist from 2011-2013 at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs under Zygmunt Smalcerz. Since 2009 Mike has been instructing athletes of all levels across the United States and the world. This immersion into the fitness world has allowed him to adapt weightlifting principles and instruction in order to best meet the needs of those most beginner levels up to elite competitors looking to refine their movements.

Chad Vaughn
Chad is a renowned Olympic Weightlifter. He is a 2-time Olympian, 8-time National Champion, and the American Record Holder in the Clean and Jerk in that sport. This type of Weightlifting is a proven foundation when developing overall athletic ability and is a tool that is utilized throughout CrossFit. With more than 15 years of utilizing and application of elite level training programs, Chad shares this knowledge with top level competitors all over the world.
Chris Hinshaw
Chris is the owner and founder of Aerobic Capacity and is widely considered one of the top endurance coaches in the world. Chris is a former All American swimmer and an experienced professional triathlete with 10 Ironman finishes. His top international finishes include a 2nd place overall finish at the Hawaiian Ironman World Championships, 2nd place overall finish at the Ironman World Championships in Canada, and a 1st place overall finish at Ironman Brazil. He has successfully coached 28 CrossFit Games Champions since 2013.
Vanessa McCoy
Vanessa McCoy competed in Olympic Weightlifting for over 10 years. In that time, she won the USA Weightlifting National Championships, American Open, and the National University Championships. She also holds medals in international competition at the World University Championships, and most recently won a bronze medal in the Olympic Test Event in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Team USA. She was a competitive gymnast in her youth, and has been coaching gymnastics for the past 15 years.
Dan Pope
Dan is a Doctor of physical therapy and board certified orthopedic clinical specialist. He has an enormous passion for fitness, rehabilitation and optimizing human performance. Not only does Dan treat athletes on a regular basis but he's been coaching and training athletes for the past 14 years as well. Dan is an accomplished athlete having competed as a division 1 pole vaulter in college, won a national champion in the sport of strongman and competed at the CrossFit regionals twice in the past. Dan works with all people ranging from the beginner up to the professional and CrossFit games level athlete. Dan is also the CEO of Fitness Pain Free where he helps athletes of all levels get out of pain and back to the training they love.
Sadie Durante
Sadie Durante is full time with Power Monkey Fitness as a gymnastics and flexibility coach, founding team member and partner in Power Monkey Camp. Sadie is an aerialist and dancer, trained in a diverse range of acrobatic disciplines. Graduate of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Fordham University’s BFA program, she performed in the critically acclaimed Venice Biennale in Italy, and has toured with various performance and circus companies.
Sadie has coached gymnastics and CrossFit classes at Solace New York, and has been a coach for CrossFit Gymnastics. She coached aerial fitness at Body & Pole in New York City, and creator of Power Monkey's The Ring Thing Class at Crunch Gym.
Kevin Montoya
Kevin is a 3x CrossFit Games team competitor and has been a fitness coach and advisor since 2003. He is a CrossFit Level 3 Coach (CCFT) and holds 17 other CrossFit and/or fitness Certifications. He has taught fitness seminars in over 20 countries.
Kevin is a Colorado native and is head coach at Intensity Park Meadows and is a lead gymnastics coach for Power Monkey.
Shane deFrietas
Shane is a 1996 Olympic gymnasts from Barbados. He is a multi-sport competitor with multi-sport coaching experience. He created the Parallel Bar skill, the "de Freitas" and is a two time NCAA All American (High Bar). He is a 4 time Artistic Gymnastics World Championships Competitor. Competed with the LA Reign, GRID team. He holds FIG Gymnastics and other sport coaching certifications.
Mike Molloy
Along with an education in science, Mike developed a knowledge of how to use nutrition and physical training to create health, longevity and human performance. He's always had a natural interest in learning how to cultivate health and performance. Over the course of his career, he's studied regenerative muscle biology, biochemistry and I completed my PhD in Immunology & Microbiology. This career path has given him a unique perspective on health/nutrition and how to improve both for performance. Since 2008, he's been working with people on optimizing their nutrition and lifestyles for maximal performance.
Rupert Egan
Rupert has been involved in the sport of gymnastics since he was 10 years old. As a competitor, he was a Regional Champion and multiple Junior Olympic National Championships qualifier. Rupert then competed for The College of William and Mary's division 1 Men’s gymnastics team. In addition to his gymnastics background, he also has experience in research science, and strength and conditioning. He is a Power Monkey lead gymnastics coach.
