Steps to Build Up Your Gymnastic Competency on Daily Basis

When it comes to gymnastics movements, it can feel overwhelming to choose which areas you should be prioritizing. We have narrowed down our short list of the top 3 gymnastics movements that will significantly be improved with some daily attention:

#1) CORE WORK
Core strength is the basis for all other movements, so spending time on core specific work goes a long way towards becoming a better athlete.

#2) FLEXIBILITY

Becoming more flexible opens the doors to an incredible amount of new skills and movements as well as helps to prevent injury. Flexibility exercises are regularly incorporated within the plans on the Monkey Method App.

#3) HANDSTANDS
You should spend time on your handstand on a regular basis. What is important to note is that working on handstands does not necessarily mean you need to be inverted. There are plenty of handstand exercises that can be done laying down or right side up that will benefit your handstand. We will help you increase your handstand vocabulary.

In terms of making long term gains that really stick, consistency will always outweigh intensity or difficulty.  Be sure to incorporate skills and drills that you can maintain and do on a regular basis.
